Nolan says Doyle has it wrong

Joseph Nolan, businessman, elected Tax Collector of Bellevue, Pa and candidate for Pennsylvania’s 14th Congressional District says Mike Doyle has it wrong when it comes to the recently passed house healthcare bill.

Mr. Doyle said, "We reached out to Republicans on our committee, we wanted to hear their ideas, we wanted to work with them.  I just think they didn't want to be part of this discussion and at the last minute, they presented a bill that none of us had seen before.”

Nolan recently stated that, “a Republican bill was available for Mr. Doyle to read.  In fact it was about one tenth the length of the bill that passed.  Mr. Doyle could have breezed through the Republican bill but he chose not to.” Nolan continued with, “If Mr. Doyle is concerned about about reading bills he should ask Nancy Pelosi to stop proposing 2000 plus page bills with 72 hours to digest the bill.

“The healthcare bill actually destroys American healthcare as we know it, damages the ability of unions to bargain collectively, limiting what they can achieve for their membership, and puts government in control of one piece of American lives.  The bill also cynically requires insurers to use ‘plain language’ and ‘transparency’ in dealing with the consumer.  It would be a great idea if plain language and transparency were used by the federal government.”

Nolan concluded his remarks by saying, “with unemployment over ten percent and still rising, this seems a very poor time for Mr. Doyle to decide that his priorities are global climate concessions and imitating Canadian healthcare.”
