Gun Control

 

The simple fact is, criminals don't follow the law - that's why we call them criminals -  so passing more invasive gun laws will have absolutely no effect on criminals.  Adding more gun control will only make law abiding citizens less safe. 

 

Police agencies are stretched to the limit handling day-to-day events like car accidents, medical emergencies, and domestic calls.  Budgets are tight and all level of governments are looking for ways to cut back, leaving the street cop alone and often out-gunned.  In many cases police officers, because of long response times, are reduced to historians with handcuffs.  They arrive after the fact to record what happened and try to bring order, in many cases, to senseless violence.

 

Police officers cannot always protect us.  The framers of the Constitution gave us the 2nd Amendment so we can protect ourselves if we choose.  It gives us, the citizens, the ability to defend our homes, as well as our Republic, from all threats, foreign and domestic.

 

It is actually our responsibility to keep our governments, local, state and federal in check.  That is why we have elections, and why we have them frequently.  If the bureaucrats and politicians can get us to relinquish our right to keep and bear arms, then we become the ruled and not the rulers of our God-given freedoms.
